Armamar is a Portuguese town in the
District of Viseu, Northern Region and sub-region of Douro, with about 1200 inhabitants.
It is the seat of a municipality with 112.24 km ² and 7492 inhabitants (2006), divided into 19 parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Peso da Regua, northeast by Sabrosa, east byTabuaço, southeast by Moimenta da Beira, southwest by Tarouca and west by Lamego.
